What is a Harrington jacket?Updated a month ago

The Harrington jacket and the Baracuta G9 are two names for the same type of jacket. A Harrington jacket is a type of casual jacket that is typically made of cotton or a cotton-polyester blend. It is characterised by a ribbed hem and cuffs, a two-button dog ear collar, ingeniously slanted pockets secured with single-button closures, an umbrella back yoke and Fraser Tartan lining. The Baracuta G9 was the first Harrington jacket, designed in the United Kingdom 1937 and finished in 1938 when the signature Fraser Tartan was added, by creative genius' the Millers borthers. It was originally designed as a golf jacket, but it quickly became popular with British Subcultures. The jacket has remained popular ever since and is now a staple wardrobe piece for everyone.
